Stoneware utensil jar by Amy Page, Page Pottery
Pittenweem is a secluded little fishing village on the lovely East Neuk coastline. Each summer for the past twenty years a range of galleries, homes, garages, studios and public spaces throughout the village open their doors to the public; exhibiting a mixture of local and invited artists’ work. I missed the Arts Festival this year as we’ve been away on holiday, but two summers ago I went with my mother-in-law. She bought me this beautiful pot as a birthday present. It’s from the Page Pottery, a working studio on the High Street. It’s so simple, utilitarian even, but the matt glaze and turned grooves make it quietly beautiful.
